"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so." -Acts 17:11

My hope for this site is to provide an encouraging resource, a comfortable retreat where thought-provoking passages will renew your interest in searching the Scriptures daily.
My hope for you is that you will love God's Word and learn to cleanse your heart, renew your mind, and increase your wisdom and knowledge of God daily by being often in the Scriptures.

"Make it the first morning business of your life to understand some part of the Bible clearly, and make it your daily business to obey it in all that you do understand" -John Ruskin

Resources & Papers

We read, we learn, we try things. Sometimes we are successful in our endeavors, at other times, no matter how well-intentioned, we are unprepared for our tasks. Here are a few papers and resources that you may find helpful when ministering. Learning from the experience, good and bad, of others is wise stewardship of the opportunities you've been given.

Practical Helps for Christian Education: a ~45k PDF file covering goal-setting for Christian education in the church, with an extra commentary on Bible study methods.

Spiritual Gifts: is a conversational look at this controversial subject. It is not meant to be a great treatise, but does simply discuss the main facts and references in a plain way. About 52k PDF.

Four Covenants: Edenic, Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic: is a slightly longer paper (64k PDF) that reviews the purpose and stipulations of four promises that God gave to humans in the earliest times. Each are found in the book of Genesis and all have direct bearing on all of mankind.

Is Hell a Real Place? A Research Paper: Our Bible makes it plain that a time of final judgment will come when men and angels will receive what they deserve. The good news of the Gospel is that mankind has a way of escape. That a way of escape had to be provided is proof that, without a way, we would not avoid the guilty verdict. 37k PDF.

" In all things having shown yourself a pattern of good works: in the doctrine, purity, sensibleness, without corruption, in sound speech that cannot be condemned, that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you." -Titus 2:7-8

Bible Study Outlines

These study outlines are aimed at directing you, but they will not do your thinking for you. The purpose of this style is to encourage you to do a good deal of exercise in your own bible. I began these studies in the month after graduating bible institute to help keep me in the Word the way I had to be while in school. Read, study, pray and stay sharp. Slack off and your sword with rust and grow dull.

The number of studies that I have polished enough to place here is still low, but should grow steadily. Stop back from time to time and see what is new. If nothing has been added in awhile, email me to find out why. That way you will be helping me to stay sharp as well, because...

"There is one oil that is especially good for treatment of leather on Bibles. In fact it will insure your Bible will stay in good condition. It is not sold, but may be found in the palm of the human hand." -Fred W. Cropp
